Are you grossed out by the smell of your own under arms? If yes, imagine the plight of those near your. Here are a few tips to help you with sweaty underarms.
1. As obvious as this might sound, not every one cares to do it. Shower at least once a day. Use an anti-bacterial soap and use it gently on your armpits. Do not harshly rub your underarms with soap. After showering, gently use the towel and remove all the moisture on the skin.
2. Mix about 8oz of vinegar in about 60 drops of an essential oil of your choice. Pour it into a bottle and shake the bottle well. Keep it aside for a week, away from sun and humidity. For this one week, shake the bottle for about 10-15 seconds daily. After one week, your mixture is ready to use. You can pour 3tbsp of this mixture into your bath daily. This is a great way to reduce your body odour to a large extend.
3. Sweat is actually odourless, but when bacteria on the skin feed on it, it produces the odour that you smell. Your diet plays a major role in causing body odour. Include a lot of fruits and veggies in your diet. Avoid red meat and go for foods low in fat and sugar. Too much of dairy can also cause body odour. Make it a habit to drink lots of water.
4. Lime juice is very effective in reducing sweat and body odour. Rub a slice of lemon on your under arms. Don't use it if you have just waxed or shaved or have a cut. Do this before you go to bed and wash it off in the morning. Don't forget to use your deodorant when you leave home.
5. Baking soda works by soaking up the excess sweat in your armpits. It is also a great odour and moisture absorber. Apply it to your underarms. It will work best when applied to shaved, dry armpits.
6. Keep your armpits waxed or shaved. This will help reduce underarm sweat to a large extend.
7. While choosing a deodorant, make sure that it does not cause you skin irritation. This will only aggravate the problem.
8. Wear breathable clothes that are not too tight around the underarms. This will allow more air circulation and dry up your skin.
It may take a few weeks before you notice significant changes. But, if the problem is severe, go visit a dermatologist.
