Chicken Jalfrezi is an easy to make spicy and delicious pakistani curry. This recipe is exceptionally tasty. Try it out and let me know what you think.
Ingredients:
- 750 g chicken thigh fillets
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 500 g tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1tablespoon oil
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 2 tablespoons grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 2 tablespoons fresh coriander, chopped
Instructions:
- Marinate the chicken in turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and ginger for 15minutes.
- Heat the oil in a thick bottomed pot and fry the onions till the raw taste disappears.
- Now, add the marinated chicken. Cook under low flame for 5-10 minutes.
- Add the bell pepper and tomatoes. Cover and cook in low flame for 20 minutes. The water from the chicken is usually enough to cook it. But, if you feel that additional waer is to be added, you may do so accordingly.
- Uncover and let the sauce simmer for a few minutes. Now, add the cumin and fresh coriander and cook for a couple of minutes.
- Your chicken jalfrezi is ready. Serve it with roti or pita bread.
